Lewis with his new cricket set

The Moores gave Lewis a cricket set for Christmas. He loves it!! Stephen took these great photos.

Christmas morning (Part 1)

Christmas day started at home with presents from Santa. Is there anymore in there???
Yes, it's La-La.
Someone received new togs for Christmas.

Christmas morning (Part 2)

Then it was time for presents under the tree.

Christmas at Stephen & Jennelle's (Part 1)

We spent the second half of Christmas day at Stephen, Jennelle and Henry's home. As always a we had a wonderful afternoon that started with presents and then a beautiful lunch and finished with Stephen's famous chocolate pudding (that Lewis absolutely loved). Thank you for having us Stephen and Jennelle and thank you Stephen for taking these amazing photos.

Lewis at day care

Every Monday Lewis attends Family Day Care and his carer, Maria, takes photos and emails them to us. This is what he got up to this week.

Dance Fever

Last night Daniel and Oliver went to Dance Fever. It is a program that is run through the school where years 3-6 learn ballroom dancing for a term. At the end of the term they have a dance competition against other schools and the school and couples compete for ribbons and trophies. They encourage the children to get dressed-up so of course, another photo opportunity. I was working at the patchwork shop yesterday so the boys came there after school and got changed, hence the fabric wall background.
The Kennys kindly drove Daniel and Oliver to the event. Lachie wore the full tuxedo!
The students danced the waltz and mambo with their partners. Daniel, and his partner Jessica, made the final in both dances and they were awarded individual second place in their zone for the mambo. This really has been a wonderful week for Daniel.
There was a little bit of fun happening between Daniel, Oliver and Edward while they waited for the parking tickets to be paid.
And then James, Edward's Dad, got in on the fun!! It's lovely to see them enjoying themselves after a very big year.

Year 6 Farewell

It is tradition at our school that Year 5 host the Year 6 Farewell. It is quite a big deal and a lot of effort is put in to this event every year. Daniel, being a Year 5 student, was invited so it is always a good photo opportunity when the boys get semi dressed-up. This is Daniel with one of his best mates, Edward. They scrub up alright don't you think!!

Presentation Day

Today was our school's annual Presentation Day. The boys featured a couple of times each, below is a photo of Oliver and the year 3 students performing a poem "The Eye of the Storm". They did a wonderful job, sometimes it's good to be a shorty and always be in the front row ... at least it's good for the photo opportunities! I apologise now for the quality of the photos, my little camera just doesn't cope very well at these events. Daniel and year 5 did a performance of the Waltz and Mambo, my camera didn't produce a good enough photo of that one. The photo below is Oliver receiving his Rotary Encouragement Award for his hard work he has done with the reading and maths support teacher this year. This is a special award and is only awarded to one student per grade per year.
Daniel has been voted one of the 2010 Prefects of our school. He had to do a speech in front of years 2-6 last week before they went away and voted. Each student and each teacher is entitled to one vote of equal value and out of the 19 boys who nominated, Daniel was voted in as one of the 4 prefects. He was thrilled when he was given the news yesterday. The photo below is him just after he was given his prefect badge from one of this year's outgoing prefects.
Wayne and I are very, very proud of our boys.

Frogs go woof

This morning Lewis was looking at himself in the mirror and I said to him "Who's that?" and he said "Lewis". Then I said "What is on your pyjamas?" and he wasn't sure so I said "That's a frog". Then I said "What noise do frogs make?" and he said "Woof". I said "No, frogs go ribbett" and he said VERY definitely and knowingly .... "Noooo, woof"!!!! This child is way too cheeky.

Christmas Carols

We attended our local Christmas Carols last Sunday night. Much fun was had with the glow sticks and electric candles.

Wilson's Quilt

This is the quilt I made for Wilson McKinnon. Now don't die of shock, he actually received it before he was 3 weeks old!! It was designed by Kathy at the shop. The centre panel is hand screen printed by a local Sydney shop called Prints Charming.

Super Secrets

Tonight Daniel performed in his drama group's play "Super Secrets". Wayne went along and watched the performance and said it was great. Lewis was very, very scared by Daniel's appearance.
